Elzo Durt was born in Brussels, Belgium, in 1980. After spending his teenage years in skateboarding and punk, he graduated in 2003 from a graphic design course at the ERG (Graphic Research School) in Brussels, and began flooding Belgium with psychedelic and punk-like images. He opened his own gallery, Plin Tub', in Brussels in 2004, as well as his publishing house. It was also during this time that he managed the graphic communication of Recyclart, a center of Brussels' underground culture. He then became art director of Voxer magazine until 2006. He gradually defined his own path, creating album covers and posters for numerous bands and labels—Thee Oh Sees, Frustration, La Femme, Le Prince Harry, Magnetix, Jack of Heart—just to name a few. Elzo's joyously morbid universe is now featured on magazine covers, festival posters, album covers, and in newspapers like Le Monde. With his screen-printed works, he travels all over Europe, even crossing the Atlantic to exhibit in the United States. In 2011, Elzo and his Parisian friend Froos launched their own label, Teenage Menopause Records. They launched artists such as JC Satan, Scorpion Violente, and Prince Harry. It's the perfect opportunity for him to practice his favorite activities: album covers, but also organizing concerts and, of course, partying.
